Carolyn Wilder's Meatloaf's "Two out of Three Ain't Bad," vs. an actual meatloaf
Carolyn Wilder’s Meatloaf’s “Bat out of Hell”
A singer named Meat Loaf? What's next? A singer named Hamburger?
I listened to Meat Loaf’s music when I was a teenager. Not hard rock. Not heavy metal. It is soft rock.
Meat Loaf’s title, “Two Out of Three Ain't Bad” probably means: two times out of three isn’t the worst odds. Don't be sad. Nothing to do with math. Prioritize emotion over logic.
Looking at Wilder’s illustration… Comes close to it. Record cover you’d see at a record store. All the 70’s weren't good. That part is important for Wilder and for Meat Loaf. The 70’s weren't all bad either. Imagine Meat Loaf. Imagine Carolyn Wilder. Riding, going out of Hell. They’re trying to fly up out of Hell. In other words - the title of the album.
Also - Meatloaf is a food. Sam Berner, a ceramicist, likes to say, “Are you calling me meatloaf?! Are you calling me a meatloaf with KETCHUP?” I can never say anything to him with a straight face. Sam’s humor, from 1-10, I’d give it a 12. Sam will be calling me a meatloaf when he reads this.
Eat meatloaf in no certain time. It tastes good.
Have it for dinner, lunch, or as a sandwich.
My mom's meatloaf is better than anyone named Meat Loaf.
The unifying thread between Wilder, the singer, the food? It’s Sam’s jokes. They all make people feel good. There is so much bad in this world. The thing is: Wilder, Meat Loaf, and meatloaf help people forget about the bad and feel awesome. They’re all comfort food. It's what you eat when you need to feel comfortable.
