Darian Johnson’s Western Pennsylvania Animals at Art’s Landing
For Arts Landing, Johnson presents Western Pennsylvania Animals, three sculptures inspired by native wildlife, extending his long-standing interest in the physical environments of the region. Known for his intricate painted cityscapes, whimsical “I Spy” compositions, and expressive animal figures, Johnson invites viewers into a world that rewards close looking. This project, a continuation of a collaboration between the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and VaultArt Studio, affirms the conviction that public space must reflect the full spectrum of human experience, including the perspective of artists with disabilities.
